Authentic Beef Tacos

- 700g ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 1 onion, finely diced
- 4 garlic cloves, minced

- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 120ml beef broth
Assembly
- 12 corn tortillas
- 1/2 white onion, finely diced
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 2 limes, cut into wedges
- Salsa verde or hot sauce
- Crumbled queso fresco (optional)
Method
Cook beef
- Brown beef in large skillet, breaking up with spoon.
- Add onion, cook until softened, 5 minutes.
- Add garlic and spices, cook until fragrant, 1 minute.
- Pour in broth, simmer until liquid reduces and flavors concentrate.
- Taste and adjust seasoning.
Serve
- Warm tortillas on griddle or gas flame until pliable.
- Fill each tortilla with beef mixture.
- Top with onion, cilantro, and cheese if using.
- Serve with lime wedges and salsa.
