Peanut Butter Cookies
These iconic cookies deliver pure peanut butter flavor with the perfect chewy-crispy balance.
Ingredients
- 250g crunchy peanut butter
- 100g butter, softened
- 100g brown sugar
- 50g caster sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 150g plain flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
Method
Mix dough
- Cream peanut butter and butter until smooth.
- Beat in both sugars until light and fluffy.
- Add egg and vanilla, mix well.
- Combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Mix dry ingredients into wet until just combined.
Shape and bake
- Preheat oven to 190°C.
- Roll dough into walnut-sized balls.
- Place on baking sheets, spacing 5cm apart.
- Create criss-cross pattern with fork.
- Bake 10-12 minutes until lightly golden.
Cool properly
- Cool on baking sheet 5 minutes.
- Transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
Peanut butter choice
Natural peanut butter works but may need slight flour adjustment. Conventional brands provide more consistent results.
